#  GOTS participated in Heimtextil India Exhibition and Sustainability Seminar

[GOTS](https://gots.vorschau.website/resources/glossary/gots "<p>The worldwide leading voluntary sustainability standard for the post-harvest textile value chain for certified organic fibres, covering environmental criteria, human rights, social criteria and business conduct.</p>") participated as an Exhibitor in Heimtextil India, held in New Delhi, India from 25-27 June, 2015. The GOTS information booth witnessed high level interest and a large number of trade visitors. GOTS remains pledged to increasing awareness about certified [organic](https://gots.vorschau.website/resources/glossary/organic "<p>'Organic' is a regulated term used to distinguish systems of managed production and products derived therefrom that adhere to principles of health, ecology, fairness and care, and which are certified compliant to an organic standard's regulations by an Approved Certification Body. <br>GOTS defines organic textiles as being made with fibres from organic agriculture systems that are certified to one of the IFOAM Family of Standards, and that are processed in socially and ecologically responsible ways, in alignment with organic principles.</p>") textiles in home textiles. GOTS was also the ‘Knowledge Partner’ for ‘Seminar on [Sustainability](https://gots.vorschau.website/resources/glossary/sustainability "<p>In 1987, the United Nations Brundtland Commission defined sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”</p>")’, held on 26th June, 2015. The seminar focused on the future of Sustainable Home textiles. It gathered representatives from across India which provided them the opportunity to share their deep knowledge and experiences about the sustainable practices being followed in home textiles sector. The highlight of the seminar was the panel discussion entitled ‘Sustainability from Fibre to Textile – Challenges and Way Forward’ moderated by Mr. Sumit Gupta, which offered a great opportunity for the audience to discuss the issues related to sustainability to further increase their understanding of the subject.
