Staff from the Global [Organic](https://gots.vorschau.website/resources/glossary/organic "<p>'Organic' is a regulated term used to distinguish systems of managed production and products derived therefrom that adhere to principles of health, ecology, fairness and care, and which are certified compliant to an organic standard's regulations by an Approved Certification Body. <br>GOTS defines organic textiles as being made with fibres from organic agriculture systems that are certified to one of the IFOAM Family of Standards, and that are processed in socially and ecologically responsible ways, in alignment with organic principles.</p>") Textile [Standard](https://gots.vorschau.website/resources/glossary/standard "<p>standard glossary text</p>") (GOTS) are excited to be exhibiting at the Texworld USA trade show on July 21-23, 2020. Traditionally held in New York City and organized by Messe Frankfurt, Texworld USA will open its 2020 summer edition on a virtual platform. Through AI-powered technology, the online event will seamlessly connect global [manufacturers](https://gots.vorschau.website/resources/glossary/manufacturer "<p>An entity in the manufacturing chain (sewing industry or so-called CMT (cut, make, trim) industry up to labelling and final packing) of GOTS Goods.</p>") and a vast network of buyers in the apparel &amp; textile fashion industry. Registrants will have the rare opportunity to e-meet with GOTS staff from China, Germany, India, as well as the United States.

It is a great opportunity to connect with GOTS and discuss [sustainability](https://gots.vorschau.website/resources/glossary/sustainability "<p>In 1987, the United Nations Brundtland Commission defined sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”</p>"). As the industry struggles to regain its footing and still move towards a more sustainable existence, GOTS is here to help, whether it is verification, promotion, or implementation. For a span of three days, visitors have the chance to engage with the GOTS staff from all over the globe in real-time.

GOTS was developed by leading international standard setters - Organic Trade Association (U.S.), Japan Organic Cotton Association, International Association Natural Textile Industry (Germany), and Soil Association (UK) to define globally-recognised requirements that ensure the organic status of textiles, from field to finished product.
